      <p><center>Check which version your system is on. <b>(system settings -> system information)</b><br><br>

<b>Please note that the purpose of Updating your system to Version 6.61 is so that you can do the <u>UNTETHERED MOD (Permanent Mod)</u> on your psp console. If you do not want to use the Untethered Mod, you will SKIP Step 4.</b>

      <p><center>Insert your Melty Mods Memory Card. Select the memory card in games folder.<br>
      Run the "UPDATE to VER 6.61". this may take a minute while the update installs.<br><br>

      <p><center>Once the download is complete your screen will show the new version update. Press O and accept user agreement to begin installation.

	The Installation may take a few minutes (about 2/3 minutes).

      <p><center>Go back to the games folder ->Memory Stick, select <b>ARK Loader</b>.

It will install and once it updates, your console will automatically restart.<br><br>

Confirm version (system settings -> system information) will show "SYSTEM SOFTWARE 6.61 ARK-4 Live"<br>

Your PSP is now on the TETHERED MOD. Press SELECT - system will show the 'hacked menu' and you can now see all the games on your memory card.<br><br>

To SLEEP the console, Press SELECT - use "SUSPEND DEVICE". This will keep the CFW (custom firmware) running.<br>
<b>If the system is shut down or loses power, you will have to run <u>"ARK Loader"</u> at next startup to access games again.</b><br><br>
